Connecting our region - enhancing our lives.
In 2008, the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance was formed to create a strong and sustainable future for our region through innovation and collaboration. Part of that collaboration involves developing a region-wide, non-motorized trail system, linking the existing trails across our three counties of Bay, Midland, and Saginaw. And, so, our Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail Committee was formed.
Once completed, our Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail will be close to a 100-mile system that will give walkers, runners, cyclists and skaters access to some of our region's best, from green spaces to parks and recreational facilities... even waterfront views of Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay!
By connecting our trails, we're also connecting our unique destinations and the incredible people who live, work, and visit here.
Help us forge the path toward this bright future for our region by exploring our current trails, learning more about linking the trails, checking out our regional trail events, or finding out how you can get involved!

Kochville Trail Connection Ribbon Cutting!
A gorgeous day, great food from local businesses, and a red ribbon stretched across the most recent trail connection! We couldn't ask for anything better! An astounding number of local trail users, community partners, and team members gathered on July 12, 2023 to celebrate the ribbon cutting at the Kochville Trail connection. This new connection created the longest continuous trail in Saginaw county stretching from Freeland through Kochville east of Davis Rd. The newest section is between Center and Hospital Roads just north of Tittabawassee. Saginaw Township's trail connects from the South.
